Meet Your Coaching Staff
Doug Wardell is entering his second year as the Head Coach of the Urbana Hawks Football Pony D2 team. With a coaching career that began in 2019, Doug has been actively involved in both youth football and wrestling in Urbana, taking on various roles from assistant to head coach.
Doug's coaching philosophy centers on the holistic development of young athletes. He is committed to nurturing each player's unique talents and fostering an environment where they can excel both on and off the field. Doug believes that youth sports are a powerful tool for teaching life lessons, including teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship.
Originally from New Jersey, Doug and his wife Carla attended their senior prom together before both continuing their education at The University of Maryland. They have lived in Urbana since 2009, where they are raising their two sons, Ben (6) and Robert (10). Doug's commitment to his community and his family reflects his dedication to helping young athletes grow and succeed.
Doug looks forward to another exciting season with the Urbana Hawks, where he aims to inspire and develop the next generation of athletes.
Bryan Moseley is serving the Urbana Youth Football Program as the JVD1 Head Coach. He has coached youth sports since 2015 and has been involved with the Urbana Football program since 2017 with experience coaching in either the Head Coach or Defensive Coordinator roles throughout the years. He previously served in the Deputy Commissioner role for two seasons and has served as a Urbana Youth Wrestling Coach for the past six years.
His philosophy regarding youth sports is centered around the experience of the child. His goal is to instill a love for the game while teaching kids the intricacies of the sport. He believes fun, growth, and safety are the most important aspects of youth sports.
In his earlier life, Bryan was a member of the James Madison University Football team. In High School, he was an All-Region/State Linebacker in Football, State Finalist in Wrestling, and All-Region team in Soccer and Track.
In his professional life, Bryan is an experienced serial entrepreneur, he is currently the owner of The Moseley Group an organization focused on founding, funding, supporting and growing organizations in a variety of business sectors. Bryan has led multiple startups and organizations for the past 16 years in growth strategies and initiatives.
Bryan holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Marymount University and a Bachelor of Science from James Madison University.
Bryan has three children, Brayden (JV), Cooper, and Riley (POMS).
